A RESOLUTION DIRECTING CITY STAFF TO DETERMINE
THE FEASIBILITY OF THE PURCHASE OF TAXICAB METERS
FOR LEASE TO TAXICAB OPERATORS; CREATING AN
ADVISORY COMMITTEE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. City Staff is hereby directed to determine the
feasibility of the purchase of taxicab meters by the City for lease
to taxicab operators.
SECTION 2. City Staff is further directed to present to the
Board of Directors a final report setting forth a determination on
the feasibility of purchasing and leasing meters. This final report
should be presented to the Board of Directors in July 1983 in con-
junction with the presentation of the previously requested meter
report.
SECTION 3. There is hereby created an Advisory Committee to
work with City Staff through the implementation of the requirement
of taxicab meters to assess fares, as required by Ordinance No. 14,431.
The Advisory Committee shall be composed of members of the business
community, the independent cab operators, the two cab companies and
the public at- large, said membership not to exceed fifteen. It shall
be the duty of the Advisory Committee to study all aspects of the
meters, including rates and type of meters to be purchased. The
Advisory Committee is hereby directed to hold three meetings prior
to October 15, 1983, and one meeting after October 15, 1983 to monitor
the implementation of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
