7195RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO M M M M AGENCIES, HOSPITALS, COMPANIES, MUNICI- PALITIES AND INDIVIDUALS FOR ASSISTING THE CITY AND LITTLE ROCK AMBULANCE AUTHORITY IN THE PROVISION OF ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) AMBULANCE SERVICE DURING THE RECENT EMERGENCY. 182 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Board of Directors awarded the Little Rock Ambulance Authority an emergency franchise to ensure the continued provision of ALS ambulance ser- vice when such services were interrupted on Friday, May 25, 1984; and WHEREAS, an emergency was later declared by the State Health Department Bureau of Emergency Services and the Authority became the sole provider of ALS service in the City of Little Rock on that same day; and WHEREAS, numerous agencies, hospitals, companies, muni- cipalities and individuals promptly responded to the service interruption and ultimate emergency; and WHEREAS, a level of cooperation ensued whereby an ambu- lance system evolved in approximately five hours which continues to bring reliable response times and clinical quality ALS care to the citizens of Little Rock and areas outside upon mutual aid request. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Little Rock Board of Directors: SECTION 1.
