7135RESOLUTION NO. 7,135 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CITY AND CAT EMPLOYEES, UTILITY COMPANIES AND THEIR EMPLOYEES FOR THE EFFORT IN OVERTIME WORK DURING THE RECENT BAD WEATHER AND COMMENDING THE GENERAL PUBLIC FOR THEIR PATIENCE. WHEREAS, the adverse weather conditions in December, 1983, necessitated numerous hours of overtime work and extra effort on the behalf of the City and Central Arkansas Transit employees and the utility companies and their employees; and WHEREAS, because of the poor weather conditions, the citizens of the City of Little Rock often were without basic City services such as garbage and often without water or electricity. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock: hereby commend all City employees, including the City Manager's Office, the Animal Control staff, the Fire Department, the General Services Department, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Police Department, the Public Works Department, and the Little Rock Zoo, the Central Arkansas Transit employees, the Airport Manager and staff; and the various utility companies and their employees including A P & L, ARKLA, Southwestern Bell, and the Little Rock Water Department and the Little Rock Waste Water utility, for the extra effort in overtime work in performing urgent services with good will and good humor for the public during the adverse weather conditions. SECTION 2: The citizens of the City of Little Rock are hereby commended for their patience and understanding during the adverse weather conditions especially, when they were often without water, or electricity and sanitation services.
