A RESOLUTION BY VICE MAYOR MYRA JONES
WHEREAS, in eight years on the Little Rock City Board of
Directors, I've served with outstanding and difficult colleagues;
and

WHEREAS, together we've been through tough times and fun times,
the mayhem for mayor, the Gazette and the Democrat, and 4, 7 and 11;
and
WHEREAS, together we've learned to vie for the light on the TV
camera, the quote in the newspaper, and hoped to be discovered in the
supermarket line in the NATIONAL ENQUIRER; and
WHEREAS, we've often disagreed without discord and often agreed
with differences, often questioned, often answered, and often bluffed
and been bluffed; and
WHEREAS, together we've planned (incomprehensively), budgeted
(occasionally), inspected ditches and potholes (deeply), bought sand
and salt spreaders (icily), toured fire stations (hungrily), visited
police stations (guardedly), pitched the first ball for recreation
programs (inaccurately) and toured parks in mud and dust (sportingly);
and
WHEREAS, together we've broken ground and bread.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. That all members must know I'll miss sitting on
this panel with you.
SECTION 2. I wish all of you well.
SECTION 3. I wish each of you happiness and continued success.
SECTION 4. I'm glad I won't be voting for mayor in January.
