RESOLUTION NO. 7,396 247
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LITTLE ROCK WATER
WORKS COMMISSION FOR THEIR EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE
AND MARKED DEDICATION TO THE CITIZENS OF LITTLE
ROCK.
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Municipal Water Works owned by the
City of Little Rock is operated under the direction of the Board
of Water Works Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Water Commission has full and complete authority
to manage, operate, improve, extend and maintain the Municipal
Water Works; and
WHEREAS, under their direct authority, Water Works serves in
an exemplary fashion in excess of 65,000 customers south of the
Arkansas River, controls 1,100 miles of water mains, oversees the
production of water distributed by the North Little Rock Water
Department; and
WHEREAS, the 1985 budget of $16,000,000 plus excludes any
City funding and is administered with maximum efficiency; and
WHEREAS, Little Rock Water Works pay maximum franchise
taxes to support the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock wishes to express its enduring thanks to the
members of the Little Rock Water Works Commission - Mr. Russell
H. Matson, Jr., Mr. Robert P. Taylor, Mr. Winston Faulkner and
to Mr. Gerald Allen and his staff for carrying out their duties
with marked dedication and skill, thereby ensuring that
exceptional water service is provided to the citizens of
Little Rock.
