A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE STRUCTURAL EVALUATION
OF THE OLD CENTRAL FIRE STATION BUILDING.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
accept the recommendation of the staff selection committee and
award a contract for the structural evaluation of the Old Central
Fire Station Building, for a total price not to exceed the budget
and payable from the funds specified in the fact sheet.

SUBJECT: Contract for Structural Evaluation of Old Central
Fire Station Building

BOARD ACTION RECOMMENDED: Adoption of a resolution authoriz-
ing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Grimes and
Johnson, Inc., consulting engineers, for structural evaluation
of the old central fire station building to help assess its
suitability for office use and define prerequisite repairs.
DISCUSSION: After evaluating and rating formal proposals
from six qualified firms on the considerations of experience,
proposed procedure, and cost, a staff selection committee has
recommended accepting the Grimes and Johnson proposal. The
proposed guaranteed maximum price is $13,860.
