ENCOURAGING JOGGERS, WALKERS
4 AND BIKERS TO WEAR PROTECTIVE
5 CLOTHING.

7 WHEREAS, each day the streets and sidewalks of Little Rock
8 are used by hundreds of joggers, walkers and bikers who recognize
9
the obvious health benefits of such activity; and
10
11 WHEREAS, increased use of the streets and sidewalks of
12 Little Rock has also increased additional driving hazards to the
13
motorists using said streets; and
14
15 WHEREAS, in the darkness of early morning and evening,
16 joggers, walkers and bikers may be difficult to distinguish and
17
thereby constitute a hazard to themselves and to motorists using
18
19 the streets and highways of Little Rock; and
20 WHEREAS, in order to avoid accidents in the future,
21
reflective garments and attachments are readily available in
22
23 Little Rock stores.
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
25
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

27 SECTION 1: The Board of Directors for the City of Little
28 Rock recommends and encourages all joggers, walkers and bikers
29
wear reflective clothing or reflective emblems at all times
30
31 during such activities, particularly one hour before sunset to
32 one hour after sunrise.
