WHEREAS, University of Arkansas President, Ray Thornton, has announced tentative plans for the UALR Law School to be moved to the campus presently used by the Graduate Institute of Technology; and WHEREAS, President Thornton has announced proposals to house Cooperative Extension Service and other educational programs of the University of Arkansas at the Cammack property; and; WHEREAS, plans provide for private development of nondormitory student housing on the UALR campus; and WHEREAS, plans provide for transfer of the administration and physical location of the Graduate Institute of Technology to UALR. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock pledges its full support and endorsement of the proposals announced by President Ray Thornton. SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock pledges to provide support for these proposals and to work with the University to solve any problems with parking and access resulting from the move of the UALR Law School to MacArthur Park.
