WHEREAS, such institutions as the University of Arkansas Eor Medical Sciences (UAMS), the University of Arkansas at Little [lock (UALR), and the Graduate Institute of Technology (GIT) have the available resources necessary to develop and attract high tech industries; and WHEREAS, research confirms the opinion that with such institutions, Central Arkansas can develop and be competitive in the national marketplace in the areas of Bioscience Data Base Programming and the development of a National Hazardous Material Training Center; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock will immediately reap the benefits of these high tech industries through the scheduling of conferences, workshops and seminars; and WHEREAS, the revenues from these meetings are estimated to be in excess of $100,000.00 per year with an expectation that this money will turn over at least four times netting over $400,000.00 to the economy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS F THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1.
