RESOLUTION NO. 7,615 272
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLAN AND COST -
SHARE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FOURCHE CREEK
CORPS OF ENGINEERS DRAINAGE PROJECT; AND
ENCOURAGING THE COUNTY AND STATE TO
PARTICIPATE IF POSSIBLE.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has long been committed
to working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in providing for
a comprehensive flood control plan for the Fourche Creek Drainage
Project; and
WHEREAS, the continuation of this project comtemplates a
cost - sharing responsibility on both a federal, state and local
basis; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent of the Little Rock
Board of Directors to provide for the City's share of the
financial obligation of this project while at the same time
encouraging the state and county to also financially participate
pursuant to previous expressions of support; and
WHEREAS, regardless of the financial ability of the state
and county to participate, the City of Little Rock is committed
to providing the funding necessary for the completion of the
Fourche Creek Drainage Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock wishes to express its desire and intent to support and
proceed with the Fourche Creek Drainage Project as outlined by
the Corps of Engineers, and to provide the financial support
necessary for its completion.
