A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT BIDS AND.AWARD CONTRACTS FOR THE
1986 RESURFACING AND SLURRY SEAL PROGRAMS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City.Manager is hereby authorized to
accept bids and award contracts to Cranford Asphalt Company of
North Little Rock in the amount of $1,212,617.32 for street
resurfacing and to Bituminous Asphalt Sealing Specialist, Inc.
of North Little Rock in the amount of $79,544.66 for street
slurry, for a total price not to exceed the budget, payable
from the funds specified in the fact sheets.

SUBJECT: Pavement Resurfacing and Slurrying Program - 1986
BOARD ACTION RECOMMENDED:
M
1. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Cranford Asphalt
Company of North Little Rock, in the amount of $1,212,617.32 for street
resurfacing in 1986.
2. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Bituminous Asphalt
Sealing Specialist, Inc. of North Little Rock, in the amount of $79,544.66 for
street slurry in 1986.
Under these contracts the City will improve 46.62 miles of streets. This program
will upgrade the riding quality and extend the useful life of many segments which
are in bad condition. The resurfacing contract will improve 39.52 miles of street
which will include 29% arterial or collector and 71% residential streets. The slurry
contract will treat 7.10 miles of streets which will include 13% arterials or collect-
ors and 87% residential streets.
