A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING ALL CITY EMPLOYEES
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HANDS ACROSS AMERICA
CELEBRATION ON SUNDAY, MAY 25, 1986.
WHEREAS, the Hands Across America celebration is an
important statement about our community's desire to provide
food and shelter for the homeless and hungry; and
WHEREAS, it is important that the City of Little Rock
speak out to these issues of public concern dealing with the
health, safety and welfare of all of our citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is incumbent on all City officials and
City employees to reflect support of this worthy cause.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Little Rock Board of Directors encourages
all City officials and City employees to participate actively and
wholeheartedly in the Hands Across America celebration on Sunday,
May 25, 1986, as a way of expressing the City's concern over the
plight of America's homeless and hungry.
