The first three acquisitions are needed for planned improvements in the Chicot 1 -30 - University area, where traffic is presently severely congested and indirect. The property would provide part of the right -of -way needed for the new direct connection between Chicot Road and University Avenue, as provided in the Master Street Plan amendment adopted last year. The parcel on Vimy Ridge Road is needed in order to allow the City and an abutting property owner to cut down an existing hill which has inadequate sight distance, in accordance with Master Street Plan standards.
