A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO THE
PROPOSED SITE OF A NEW POST OFFICE DISTRIBUTION
CENTER ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE.

WHEREAS, it is the apparent intention that a new Post
Office Distribution Center be located in Little Rock in the
vicinity of University Avenue and "H" Street; and
WHEREAS, there is wide spread neighborhood dissatification
with this proposed location; and
WHEREAS, this location provides for an urban wildlife
habitat which should be preserved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Little Rock Board of Directors hereby
expresses its strong opposition to a new Post Office Distribution
Center on the proposed site referenced.
Section 2. The Little Rock Board of Directors hereby
urges the entire Arkansas Congressional delegation to assist
them in this opposition.
Section 3. The Little Rock Board of Directors hereby
urges the United States Postal Service to heed the opposition
and concerns of the surrounding residents adjacent thereto by
locating an alternate site for said Distribution Center.
