A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE SPONSORS OF
THE SEVENTH ANNUAL BUSCH -COKE CLASSIC
SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT.

WHEREAS, over one hundred teams from eight different
states participated in the Seventh Annual Busch -Coke Classic
Softball Tournament held in Little Rock on July 4th, 5th, and
6th; and
WHEREAS, seventy -eight teams from outside the City of
Little Rock attended and helped boost the economy of the City
through the use of five hotels and numerous restaurants; and
WHEREAS, approximately 1,950 players joined in tournament
competition with an estimated 15,000 spectators enjoying the game
of softball.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Little Rock Board of Directors wishes to
express its appreciation to the sponsors of the Seventh Annual
Busch -Coke Classic Softball Tournament, Anhesuer -Busch and the
Coca -Cola Bottling Company, for their sponsorship of this
tournament.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors also wishes to express
its gratitude for the expert organizational abilities
demonstrated by the organizer for the tournament, Mr. Clint
Albright.
