A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A REPLACEMENT
COMMISSIONER FOR THE QUAPAW CENTRAL BUSINESS
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT #5; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
7 WHEREAS, the Quapaw Central Business Improvement District #5 was created by
8 Little Rock, Ark. Ordinance No. 15,110 (June 3, 1986); and
9 WHEREAS, there has been a vacancy on the board of the improvement district
10 created when one of its commissioners moved out of the area encompassing the
11 improvement district; and
12 WHEREAS, Ark. Code Ann. §14 -88 -304 provides that in the event of a vacancy
13 created when one of the current commissioners moves out of the improvement district, a
14 replacement commissioner shall be appointed by the Board of Directors of the City which
15 created the improvement district; and
16 WHEREAS, the remaining commissioners of the Quapaw Central Business
17 Improvement District #5 have suggested a replacement for the commissioner vacancy.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City of Little Rock Board of Directors hereby appoints
21 John Cooke, who is the President of Stageworks, Inc., owns the property occupied by his
22 company, and employs individuals in the District, as the new commissioner for Quapaw
23 Central Business Improvement District No. 5.

The commissioners of the Quapaw Central Business Improvement District #5 hereby
submit for your approval
John Cooke
to fill a vacancy on the Board of Commissioners of the District. Mr. Cooke is President
of Stageworks, Inc. and owns the property occupied by his company in the District.
Stageworks is a theatrical stage equipment supplier and contractor with 12 employees
which has operated in the District for 18 years. We believe that Mr. Cooke will fairly
and enthusiastically represent the interests of all property owners in the District and we
recommend his appointment.
