WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 04 -237 to solicit proposals for Summer Recreation programs and services for Little Rock youth, and WHEREAS, the City provides enhancement services for the Little Rock community with a specified number of providers based upon youth population, and WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted, determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidder(s), and recommends contract awards for Summer Recreation programs in the Little 'Rock community, and was further endorsed by the Commission on Children, Youth and Families. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with three 22 23 24 25 26 recommended organizations for summer recreation programs, subject to negotiation by the City Attorney, for a total of $132,719, with: 1. Centers for Youth & Families ($17, 546) 2. Centers for Youth & Families- Parent Center ($17, 921) 3. Promiseland Ministries- Camp Positive ($15,900) 5 8. Promiseland Ministries- Promise Camp ($15, 900) 6 Section 2. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE - Little Rock tax 7 revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account 8 number 105 - 035 -T257. 9 Section 3. The term of the contract is from June 16, 2004 to September 1, 2004. 10 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or 11 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not 12 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and 13 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not 14 originally a part of this resolution. 15 Section 5. Repealer.
