3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 EXTEND BID #03267 AND TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE
5 PURCHASE OF AN ADDITIONAL HIGH, SIDE DUMP
6 MECHANICAL STREET SWEEPER FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
7 OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, on November 4, 2003, the Board of Directors adopted Resolution
10 #11,623 which approved the purchase of two (2) High, Side Dump Mechanical Street
11 Sweepers under Bid #03267, and
12 WHEREAS, the Public Works Operations Department is in need of an
13 additional street sweeper to replace a 1996 model Athey Sweeper and which will be a
14 critical part of the Public Works Street Cleaning Programs, and
15 WHEREAS, Tennant Sales and Service Company was the lowest responsible
16 and responsive bidder under Bid #03267 and can provide an additional street sweeper
17 for One Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand, One Hundred Four and 34/100 Dollars
18 ($156,104.34) by extension of Bid #03267;
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to extend
22 Bid #03267 approved by Resolution #11,623, and enter into a contract with Tennant
23 Sales and Service Company for the purchase of one (1) High, Side Dump Mechanical
24 Street Sweeper for the Public Works Operations Department, for the amount of One
25 Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand, One Hundred Four and 34/100 Dollars ($156,104.34).

1 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from Account #223 -220-
2 7119 - 7060 -10 (2003 Short Term Financing).
3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
4 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
5 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
6 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
7 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
8 resolution.
9 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
10 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
11 of such inconsistency.
