3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH BENHAM COMPANIES FOR
5 ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATED TO
6 IMPROVEMENTS TO THE GARRISON ROAD PARK PROPERTY
7 AND SOCCER FIELDS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the voters of Little Rock approved a Seventy Million, Six Hundred
10 Thirty-five Thousand Dollar ($70,635,000) Limited Obligation Capital Improvement
11 Bond Issue (Series 2004) at an election held on November 4, 2003, and
12 WHEREAS, the ballot listed projects to be funded with proceeds of the bonds to
13 be issued included Parks and Recreational Improvements, and
14 WHEREAS, the City issued an RFQ under Bid No. 03283 for architectural and
15 engineering services related to improvements for the Garrison Road Park property and
16 soccer fields, and Benham Companies was chosen to provide such services at an
17 amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifteen Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($115,000.00),
18 and
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
22 into a contract with Benham Companies for architectural and engineering services
23 related to improvements for the Garrison Road Park property and soccer fields, in an
24 amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifteen Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($115,000.00).
25 Section 2. Funds for these services are to be allocated from the $70,635,000
26 Limited Obligation Capital Improvement Bond Issue (Series 2004).

1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
2 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
3 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
4 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
6 resolution.
7 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
8 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
9 of such inconsistency.
