117330 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 11,733 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A TEN- 4 ACRE PARCEL OF LAND BETWEEN ROCK CREEK AND THE 5 ST. CHARLES NEIGHBORHOOD FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A 6 PARK ADJACENT TO THE ROCK CREEK PEDESTRIAN AND 7 BIKE TRAIL; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 0 9 WHEREAS, Little Rock Parks & Recreation is currently developing a pedestrian 10 and bike trail along Rock Creek, and 11 WHEREAS, the staff has identified a ten -acre parcel of land between Rock Creek 12 and the St. Charles neighborhood which will enhance the trail and provide access off of 13 St. Charles Boulevard, and 14 WHEREAS, Little Rock Parks & Recreation proposes to develop the property set 15 out in Attachment "A" as a small park to serve the St. Charles neighborhood and the 16 west Little Rock community and to ultimately further the development of the Master 17 Parks Plan. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The Board hereby approves the purchase of the ten -acre parcel of 21 land set out herein for development of a park along Rock Creek for the amount of One 22 Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized 23 to execute all documents necessary for said purchase. 24 Section. 2. Funding for this purchase is available in the Rock Creek Trail 25 Account. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
