3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES FOR
5 YOUTH, INC. TO PROVIDE YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY,
6 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION
7 SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention,
10 intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety
11 and community- building, and
12 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 03 -300 to solicit proposals for
13 youth employability, technical assistance, and violence prevention, and
14 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted,
15 determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidder(s), and recommends the
16 organization listed below for a contract award.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with New
20 Futures for Youth, Inc. for youth employability, technical assistance and violence
21 prevention services:
22 New Futures for Youth, Inc. $195,000.00
23 Section 2. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE - Little Rock tax
24 revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account
25 number 105 - 035 -T217.

1 Section 3. The term of the contract is for February 11, 2004 to December 31, 2004,
2 and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon appropriation,
3 satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the parties.
4 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is
5 declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
6 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall
7 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
8 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.
9 Section 5. Repealer. All resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in
10 conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of
11 such conflict.
