116030 1 2 RESOLUTION NO. 11,603 0 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH PIERCE 5 MANUFACTURING FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE FIRE 6 PUMPER/TANKER TRUCK IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO 7 HUNDRED FIFTY -NINE THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED AND 8 NO /100 DOLLARS ($259,900.00); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 0 10 WHEREAS, FEMA approved a request by the Little Rock Fire Department to 11 purchase a Fire Pumper/Tanker Truck under their "FY 02 Assistance to Firefighters 12 Grant Program, and 13 WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid No. C03259, Pierce Manufacturing submitted the 14 only bid, as it was the only vendor that could adhere to the strict guidelines of the 15 Compressed Air Foam System required by this apparatus, and 16 WHEREAS, the bid submitted by said Pierce Manufacturing was in the amount 17 of Three Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand, Seven Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars 18 ($349.797.00), meeting all bid specifications, but was reduced by eliminating some line 19 items and equipment in order to meet the projected cost and delivery deadline set by 20 FEMA, leaving a final cost of Two Hundred Fifty-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred 21 Dollars ($259,900.00). 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter 25 into a contract with Pierce Manufacturing to purchase one Fire Pumper/Tanker Truck [PAGE 1 OF 21 Reaohafion To authorize purchase of Fire Pureper?anker Truck 0 0 1 for the Fire Department, for an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty-Nine 2 Thousand, Nine Hundred and no /100 Dollars ($259,900.00). 3 Section 2. Funding for this purchase will consist of $182,000.00 from FEMA 4 Grant #EMW- 2002 -FG- 10456, representing seventy (70) percent of the cost, and the 5 remaining $77,900.00, from the City of Little Rock budgeted Grant match account. 6 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 7 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 8 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 9 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 10 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 11 resolution. 12 Section 4. Repealer.
