115570 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 11,557 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., RESOLUTION NO. 4 10,906 (OCTOBER 3, 2000) TO CHANGE THE WAY THAT MEMBERS OF 5 THE ANIMAL SERVICES ADVISORY GROUP ARE SELECTED; AND FOR 6 OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors created an Animal Services Advisory Group 9 in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10,906 (October 3, 2000), to review suggested to ordinance changes for various City animal control ordinances, and 11 WHEREAS, this group has a requirement that a certain number of members be 12 selected from a specific ward, but there has been a problem getting interested parties to 13 be appointed, serve, and attend the various meetings, and 14 WHEREAS, it is believed that a modification in the selection criteria would help 15 to overcome this problem. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. Section 2(A) of Little Rock, Ark., Resolution 10,906 (October 3, 2000) 19 is hereby amended to read as follows 20 (A) Seven (7) members to be selected from among applicants who reside 21 in the various wards of the City, with one person selected from each 22 ward; provided that if it is not possible to fill these seven positions in 23 this manner then a person can be selected at -large for any particular 24 vacancy; provided further, that it is the intent to have no more than 25 two (2) of these seven (7) members from the same ward if possible; 26 and, provided further that in the event of a vacancy in one of these [PAGE 1 OF 2] Resolution Membenhip of Animal Services Advisory Gmup - ommding LM 10,9% (October 3,200) 0 0 1 positions in which an at -large member had been sitting the first 2 priority for a new appointment shall be given to a person who 3 resides in the ward for which the position was originally designated. 4 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, 5 sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid 6 or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 7 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 8 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 9 resolution. 10 Section 3. Repealer.
