115201 RESOLUTION NO. 11,520 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH VIGILAR, INC. TO 5 INSTALL A COMPUTER NETWORK FIREWALL TO THE CITY 6 OF LITTLE ROCK'S COMPUTER NETWORK; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. M 9 WHEREAS, computer network of the City of Little Rock is connected to the 10 Internet through a firewall, which prevents intruders from connecting to city computers 11 from the Internet with the intent to cause harm or gain access to sensitive data; and 12 WHEREAS, the current firewall system is aged and cannot be upgraded to 13 provide protection from the new software threats developed over the past few years, 14 and 15 WHEREAS, the new system will provide additional capacity, new protection 16 features, logging, and dual- system reliability; and 17 WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid No. 03235 opened May 15, 2003, Vigilar, Inc. 18 submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid for such computer network 19 firewall, said bid being in the amount of Fifty-nine Thousand, Five Hundred Fifty-three 20 and 49/100 Dollars ($59,553.49) 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 22 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter 24 into a contract with Vigilar, Inc. for the installation of a computer network firewall to 25 [PAGE 1 OF 21 Resolution Aulthorize C tray for Fire Department Uniforms C� C 1 the computer network of the City of Little Rock, in the amount of Fifty-nine Thousand, 2 Five Hundred Fifty-three Dollars and 49/100 Dollars ($59,553.49). 3 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in Account #223 - 113 - 7109 -7121 — 4 Short -Term Financing. 5 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 6 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 7 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 8 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 9 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 10 resolution. 11 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that 12 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent 13 of such inconsistency. 14 Section 5.
