3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO AN ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH ARAMARK
5 UNIFORM SERVICES FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT STATION
6 WEAR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department has operated under an annual contract
9 agreement with a local vendor to sell Fire Department personnel approved uniform items , and
10 WHEREAS, an agreement was reached between the City Administration and the
11 Firefighters Local 34 which provided that uniforms would be provided by a rental company that
12 would pick up, clean and return them, in order to prevent contaminated substances being
13 transmitted to Fire Department personnel's homes, and
14 WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid No. C03010 issued March 12, 2003, Aramark Uniform
15 Services submitted the only bid for such service, said bid being a cost of $5.20 per uniform set
16 per month, for an approximate annual amount of One Hundred Four Thousand, One Hundred
17 Dollars ($104,000.00) for 385 uniform sets.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a
21 annual contract with Aramark Uniform Services for the rental and cleaning of Fire Department
22 station wear at a cost of $5.20 per uniform set per month, for an approximate annual amount of
23 One Hundred Four Thousand, One Hundred Dollars ($104,000.00) for 385 uniform sets.
24 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in Account #100 -340-
25 4100/4200/4300/4500.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
27 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
28 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall
29 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or

1 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in Account #100 -340-
2 4100/4200/4300/4500.
3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
4 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
5 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
6 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
7 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
8 resolution.
9 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
10 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
11 of such inconsistency.
12 Section 5. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
13 adoption.
