114640 1 RESOLUTION NO. 11,464 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 MAKE VARIOUS VEHICLE PURCHASES FOR THE CITY; AND 5 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, it is periodically necessary for the City to purchase certain vehicles 8 for various departments, and to either make these purchases from the state purchase 9 contract pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 19 -11 -249 (Michie Repl. 1998), or to advertise for 10 competitive bids and award a contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; 11 and 12 WHEREAS, the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase six (6) 13 compact sedans, two (2) 1/2 ton pickup trucks, two (2) 1/2 ton extended cab pickup 14 trucks, four (4) 3/4 ton pickup trucks, one (1) 1 ton dual wheel cab and chassis, one (1) 1 15 ton crew cab dual wheel cab and chassis, one (1) compact 4 -wheel drive utility vehicle, 16 and one (1) standard 4 -wheel drive utility vehicle, from the 2003 Arkansas State 17 Purchasing Contract; and 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to make the following 21 purchases of vehicles pursuant to the state purchasing contract: 22 (a) Six (6) compact sedans for an amount not to exceed Seventy-three 23 Thousand, Three Hundred Twenty Dollars ($73,320.00) to be 24 purchased from Russell Chevrolet; 25 26 // [PAGE 1 OF 3] Resolution to Purchase Vehicles from 2003 State Purchasing Contract 0 0 1 (b) Two (2) 1/2 ton pick -up truck for an amount not to exceed Twenty- 2 six Thousand, Seven Hundred Twelve Dollars ($26,712.00) to be 3 purchased from Bale Chevrolet; 4 (c) Two (2) 1/2 ton extended cab pickup trucks for an amount not to 5 exceed Thirty Thousand, Nine Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars 6 ($30,922.00) to be purchased from Landers GMC; 7 (d) Four (4) 3/4 ton pickup trucks for an amount not to exceed Sixty- 8 One Thousand, Nine Hundred Thirty-Six Dollars ($61,936.00) to be 9 purchased from Little Rock Dodge; 10 (e) One (1) 1 ton dual wheel cab and chassis for an amount not to 11 exceed Nineteen Thousand, Three Hundred Fifty-five Dollars 12 ($19,355.00) to be purchased from Landers Chevrolet; 13 (f) One (1) 1 ton crew cab dual wheel cab and chassis for an amount 14 not to exceed Twenty Thousand, Five Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars 15 ($20,595.00) to be purchased from Landers Ford; 16 (g) One (1) compact 4 -wheel drive utility vehicle for an amount not to 17 exceed Eighteen Thousand, Three Hundred Eighty-seven Dollars 18 ($18,387.00) to be purchased from Smart Chevrolet; 19 (h) One (1) standard 4 -wheel drive utility vehicle for an amount not to 20 exceed Twenty-one Thousand, Nine Hundred Ninety-three and 21 36/100 Dollars ($21,793.36) to be purchased from Mt. Moriah 22 Dodge. 23 Section 2. Funds for these purchases are to be allocated as follows: 24 (a) Short Term Financing Acct. #223- 360 - 7118 - 7060 -10 in the amount of 25 $260,800.36; and 26 (b) Fleet Services Acct. #600 - 360 - 6020 - 6021 - 7060 -10 in the amount of 27 $12,220.00. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that 2 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent 3 of such inconsistency. 4 Section 4. Severability.
