3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE ADOLESCENT
5 SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION
6 ENCHANCEMENT SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention,
9 intervention and treatment for Little Rock youth to enhance public safety and
10 community building, and
11 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 03 -209 to solicit proposals for
12 adolescent substance abuse prevention and intervention enhancement services, and
13 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted,
14 determined the proposal responsive, and recommends the organization listed below, as
15 the lowest responsible bidder, for a contract award.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
17 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract, in
19 substantially the format attached as Exhibit A, for adolescent substance abuse
20 prevention and intervention enhancement services with Arkansas Children's Hospital
21 in an amount not to exceed $47,350.
22 Section 2. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE - Little Rock tax revenue
23 specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account number 105-
24 035 -T119.
25 Section 3. The term of the contract is for February 19, 2003 - December 31, 2003.

1 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or
2 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not
3 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and
4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
5 originally a part of this resolution.
6 Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which
7 are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of
8 such conflict.
