3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE
5 TRACTOR DRAWN AERIAL TRUCK FOR THE FIRE
6 DEPARTMENT FROM PIERCE MANUFACTURING FOR THE
7 AMOUNT OF $654,311.00; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Fire Department is in need of a tractor drawn aerial truck to
10 replace a 1985 year model ladder truck, and
11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock received bids under Bid #02234 for the
12 purchase of one such tractor drawn aerial truck, and
13 WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder meeting minimum specifications was
14 received from Pierce Manufacturing in the amount of Six Hundred Fifty-Four
15 Thousand, Three Hundred Eleven and no /100 Dollars ($654,311.00)
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
19 into a contract for the purchase of one (1) tractor drawn aerial truck for the Fire
20 Department from Pierce Manufacturing, for the amount of Six Hundred Fifty-Four
21 Thousand, Three Hundred Eleven and no /100 Dollars ($654,311.00).
22 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the 2003 Short -Term
23 Financing Account #223-360-7118-7060-10.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
25 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
26 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining

1 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
2 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
3 resolution.
4 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
5 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
6 of such inconsistency.
7 Section 5. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
8 adoption.
