114130 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 119411 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT WITH V. R. 4 SMITH & SONS FOR PHASE I REHABILITATION OF THE 5 MOSAIC TEMPLARS BUILDING; AND FOR OTHER 6 PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, in 1993, the City of Little Rock acquired the Mosaic Templars 9 Building at the corner of Ninth and Broadway in the City of Little Rock, and 10 WHEREAS, the building has been vacant for many years and has 11 deteriorated substantially and is in dire need of rehabilitation, and 12 WHEREAS, in the last state legislative session, the legislature authorized a 13 fund for the rehabilitation of the Mosaic Templars Building, and 14 WHEREAS, on November 8, 2002, and November 15, 2002, the City 15 advertised formal Bid No. 02274R to solicit proposals for Phase I Rehabilitation 16 of the Mosaic Templars Building and the City opened the proposals received on 17 November 22, 2002, and 18 WHEREAS, it has been determined that the firm of V. R. Smith & Sons 19 submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid, 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF 21 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement 23 with the firm of V. R. Smith & Sons, of Little Rock, Arkansas, in an amount not to 24 exceed Two Hundred Thirty-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-Seven 25 Dollars ($237,577.00) for Phase I Rehabilitation of the Mosaic Templars Building. [PACE1 OF 21 Resolution to authorize agreement for Phase 1 Rehabilitation of Mosaic Templars Building 0 0 1 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are available in the Mosaic Templars 2 Redevelopment Account No. 700 - 216 -X020. 3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is 4 declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 5 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall 6 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 7 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. 8 Section 4. Repealer.
