A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE TEN (10) ADDITIONAL PERMITS
TO MED -RIDE OF ARKANSAS, LLC, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SECTION 34 -62, CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TRANSPORTATION
CODE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Medi -Ride of Arkansas, LLC has been the State of Arkansas contract
Medicare Transportation provider since January, 2002, and
WHEREAS, a fleet size of twenty (20) vehicles owned by Medi -Ride of Arkansas, LLC,
12 in addition to independent subcontractors, is required to provide necessary Medicare services,
13 and
14 WHEREAS, in order to adequately provide Medicare services required , Medi -Ride of
15 Arkansas, LLC, requests approval of ten (10) additional specialized transportation permits
16 above the maximum allowed without special authority, in accordance with Section 34 -62 of the
17 City of Little Rock Transportation Code,
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
19 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The request of Medi -Ride of Arkansas, LLC for a fleet of twenty vehicles,
21 which requires ten (10) additional specialized transportation permits to provide necessary
22 Medicare services for citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas is hereby approved.
23 Section 2. Severability. In the event any portion of this ordinance is declared or
24 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the
25 remaining portions of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion
26 so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this ordinance.
27 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in
28 conflict with any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
