113791 RESOLUTION NO. 11,379 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN ANNUAL PURCHASE CONTRACT 4 WITH UNISOURCE TO PROVIDE PAPER FOR THE VARIOUS CITY 5 DEPARTMENTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, various City departments have substantial needs for paper products 8 during the course of a year, and the most cost effective means to purchase this paper is 9 through an annual contract, or through a state contract, and 10 WHEREAS, in order to assure that the City was able to achieve the unique delivery 11 requirements that it needs it was decided to submit this matter for a competitive bid, and 12 WHEREAS, in response to RFP No. CO2014, which was advertised on June 24, 2002, 13 and opened on July 19, 2002, the City received three responsive bids, and it was 14 determined that Unisource of Little Rock, Arkansas, submitted the lowest responsible and 15 responsive bid, and 16 WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Interim City Manager that the City 17 enter into an annual purchasing contract with Unisource, 18 NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED BY THE BOARD. OF DIRECTORS OF 19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an annual purchase 21 agreement with Unisource to provide printing paper needs for the City for a period of one 22 year in accordance with the prices and terms set forth on Exhibit A to this resolution. 23 Section 2. The anticipated cost for City paper needs of one hundred and twenty 24 seven thousand twenty two dollars and forty-three cents ($127,022.43), shall be available 25 from the various printing cost line items in the budgets of the various City departments. 26 Section 3. The City recognizes that the cost of paper products might 27 dramatically increase during the term of this purchase contract, and therefore reserves the [PACE 1 OF 41 Amw punhw cmo-,n..ah un:� m.cay mNdns wM I right to rebid this contract should the City and Unisource not be able to negotiate 2 appropriate price modifications from those listed on Exhibit A to this resolution. 3 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 4 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 5 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions 6 of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or 7 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 8 Section 5. Repealer.
