3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
4 AN AGREEMENT WITH GRESHAM SMITH AND PARTNERS TO
5 CONDUCT INTERSECTION SAFETY STUDIES ON SIX CITY
6 INTERSECTIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has determined that it would be
9 beneficial to study various intersections within the City to determine what steps can be
10 taken to enhance public safety at these intersections, and
11 WHEREAS, State Farm Insurance awarded the City one hundred and twenty
12 thousand dollars ($120,000.00) to conduct these studies, and
13 WHEREAS, a formal competitive process to review the six designated intersections
14 - Baseline and Chicot Roads, Bowman and Markham Street, 12th Street and University
15 Avenue, Rodney Parham Road and Markham Street, Baseline and Geyer Springs Roads,
16 and Forbing Road and University Avenue - resulted in a determination that Gresham
17 Smith and Partners was the most qualified respondent,
Is NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with
21 Gresham Smith and Partners to conduct intersection safety studies at six designated
22 intersections utilizing an amount not to exceed one hundred and twenty thousand dollars
23 ($120,000) in monies received by the City from a grant by State Farm Insurance Company.
24 Section 2. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
25 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
26 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions

1 of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or
2 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
3 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions are hereby repealed to the
4 extent of such inconsistency.
