112720 1 RESOLUTION NO. 11,272 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE 4 WIRELESS TELEPHONE SERVICES FROM THE STATE CONTRACT, AND 5 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has authorized the City Manager to participate 8 in state purchasing contracts through the passage of Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 8,557 9 (August 20, 1991), and Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10,255 (April 28, 1998), and 10 WHEREAS, the State information services department has established a state 11 contract for the purchase of telecommunications services and has made the purchase of 12 DIS Digital Wireless Service including dual mode telephone, statewide local calling, and 13 other services, available to the City, and 14- WHEREAS, the City Manager wishes to participate in this program on a pilot basis 15 for the balance of fiscal year 2002, and may wish to include participation in this program 16 as simply a part of the annual telecommunications budget for various City departments 17 starting in fiscal year 2003, and 18 WHEREAS, the anticipated amount for 2002 is above the amount that would 19 require competitive bidding if the City were not participating in the State procurement 20 contract, 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 22 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement for DIS 24 Wireless Services with the State of Arkansas pursuant to the state contract for such 25 telecommunications services. The City Manager and the Director of Finance & Treasurer are 2 authorized to incorporate continued participation in this program into the various 3 departmental budgets during the 2003 City budge process if it is determined to be in the 4 best interests of the City to do so. 5 Section 3. Funds for this agreement, which is a pilot program for fiscal year 6 2002, are already built into the departmental budgets for telecommunications services. 7 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 8 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 9 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions 10 of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or 11 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 12 Section 5. Repealer.
