3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY
4 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT
5 NEGOTIATIONS WITH LITTLE ROCK
6 CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER, INC. TO
7 PROVIDE SUMMER AND YEAR ROUND
8 EDUCATION, WORKFORCE AND SUPPORT `+
9 SERVICES TO ELIGIBLE LITTLE ROCK
10 YOUTH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

12 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock and the Little Rock Workforce
13 Investment Board have committed to providing education, workforce and
14 support services to Little Rock youth, and
15 WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposal to obtain a Workforce
16 Investment Youth Services Provider, and
17 WHEREAS, Little Rock Career Development Center, Inc. was deemed the
18 lowest responsible bidder by a five - member selection committee, and
19 WHEREAS, the selection committee recommends that the Little Rock
20 Career Development Center, Inc. be awarded the contract.
21 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
22 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
23 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with
24 the Little Rock Career Development Center, Inc. subject to successful negotiation,
25 to provide summer and year round education, workforce and support services to
26 Little Rock youth ages 14 -21, at a cost not to exceed $251,000.
27 Section 2. The services are to be provided at the Little Rock Career
28 Development Center 125 West 4th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas and selected
29 satellite locations within the City of Little Rock.

Section 3. The contract term shall be for one year from April 1, 2002 to
March 30, 2003.
Section 4. Funding for these programs is from Workforce Investment Act
of 1998 funds, account #Y02G120, and is contingent upon receipt of the award
document.
