111601 2 3 4 5 6 7 s 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 0 RESOLUTION NO. 11,160 0 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT FOR EMPLOYEE DENTAL INSURANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL YEAR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City provides dental insurance for eligible employees and, after a competitive bidding process, authorized a contract with Delta Dental Plan of Arkansas to provide this coverage, and WHEREAS, the contract provides that the coverage can be extended for a period of one year, and after review of the contract it has been decided that such an extension for the next year is appropriate even though it will mean some increase in the premium to be paid, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend for the year 2002 an 17 agreement with Delta Dental Plan of Arkansas to provide dental insurance coverage for 18 eligible City employees for an increase in the premium not to exceed fifteen percent (15 %) 19 of that charged during 2001. 20 Section 2. Funds for the cost of this coverage will be included as a line item in 21 the 2002 City budget. 22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 23 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 24 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions 25 of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or 26 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
