RESOLUTION NO. U,156
A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT FRIDAY, ELDREDGE & CLARK AS BOND
COUNSEL, AND STEPHENS INC. AS BOND UNDERWRITER FOR THE
PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF REFUNDING BONDS FOR THE SERIES 1993 AND
1995 WASTE DISPOSAL REVENUE BONDS AND THE ISSUANCE OF
ADDITIONAL WASTE DISPOSAL REVENUE BONDS; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to have bond counsel to work with the City to perform legal work to
assure the issuance of refunding bonds for the Series 1993 and 1995 Waste Disposal Bonds and the issuance of
additional Waste Disposal Revenue Bonds; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to have underwriters provide the best financial terms for the bonds; and
WHEREAS, the City requested proposals from qualified firms to handle this work; and
WHEREAS, the proposals were reviewed by a selection committee designated in accordance with
City ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the committee has concluded that the law firth of Friday, Eldredge & Clark is the most
qualified to handle the legal work, and the firm of Stephens Inc. has the knowledge and experience with similar
financings in Arkansas and nationally as an underwriter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the firms of
Friday, Eldredge & Clark to act as bond counsel, and Stephens Inc. to act as underwriter for this bond issue.
