111180 RESOLUTION NO. 11, 118 A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK PARKS AND RECREATION'S CONSTRUCTION OF REBSAMEN PARKWAY PEDESTRIAN / BIKE TRAIL. WHEREAS, Little Rock, Arkansas Parks seeks to improve the recreation facilities and wishes to construct a new pedestrian / bike trail along Rebsamen Parkway; and WHEREAS, In order to construct said pedestrian / bike trail, it is necessary to enter into a contract with the low bidder, Township builders, Inc. WHEREAS, the plans have been prepared, the projected bidded with a responsible low bidder established, the funds are in place, and WHEREAS, this governing body understands that the City of Little Rock will enter into a contract with Township Builders, Inc. for the amount of $400K. The funds are being provided by the Arkansas State Highway Department via a TEA 21 grant from the Federal Government. The 20% matching grant is being supplied by Little Rock Parks and Recreation. Little Rock Parks and Recreation is managing the construction on the above mentioned project. This project is part of an ongoing effort to provide alternative transportation to the citizens of Little Rock, and it's visitors. Developing a citywide trail system is a priority of the recently adopted Parks and Recreation Master Plan as well as a directive of the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP). NOW, THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LITTLE ROCK CITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Township Builders.
