2 A RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE
3 INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTRAL
4 ARKANSAS TRANSIT AUTHORITY AUTHORIZED IN
5 LITTLE ROCK, ARK. RES. NO. 10,928 (NOVEMBER 8,
6 2000) WHICH APPROPRIATED FUNDS FROM THE CITY'S
7 FEDERAL WELFARE -TO -WORK ( "WTW ") GRANT FOR
8 VAN TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR THE CITY'S
9 WTW CLIENTS; REQUIRING PERFORMANCE WITHIN
10 30 DAYS OF THE AGREED UPON DATE OF BEGINNING;
11 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

13 WHEREAS, the City and the Central Arkansas Transit Authority ( "CATA ") entered into
14 an interlocal agreement for WtW van transportation services December 15, 2000 pursuant to
15 authority granted in Little Rock, Ark. Res. No. 10,928 (November 8, 2000); and
16 WHEREAS, CATA was unable to begin the service due to higher than expected driver
17 attrition in the winter and spring, and unexpected employee illness; and
18 WHEREAS, CATA has pursued aggressive recruiting and employee retention efforts
19 and is now able to provide van transportation services; and
20 WHEREAS, the City is willing to extend this agreement for 6 months, with an option
21 to extend to December 31, 2002, conditioned on CATA's 30 day performance at the beginning
22 of the new term.
23 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LITTLE ROCK BOARD OF
24 DIRECTORS:
25 SECTION 1: Section 2 of Little Rock Ark. Res. No. 10,928 (November 8, 2000) is
26 hereby amended to read as follows:

2 "SECTION 2. These funds shall be expended during a six month
period, ending 6 months from the date the agreement is signed by
3 the parties. "
4 SECTION 2: CATA must perform to the satisfaction of the City Manager within an
5 initial 30 day period mutually agreed upon by the City and CATA or the agreement is
6 terminated and the City will bid such services. If CATA's performance is satisfactory, the
7 agreement will again be reviewed at the end of the six month period. It maybe further extended
8 if CATA's performance remains satisfactory to the end of the grant period, December 31, 2002.
