A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN EXTENSION OF THE EXISTING AGREEMENT
PROVIDING LIFE INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR CITY
EMPLOYEES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock provides life insurance for its employees, and
WHEREAS, in response to the most recent Request for Proposal, Businessman's Assurance
Company ( "BMA ") submitted a bid with a three (3) year rate guarantee, and
WHEREAS, BMA has been acquired by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, and has
proposed an extension of the additional agreement at the current rates for an additional two (2) year
period, and
WHERAS, the proposed extension of the existing agreement provides guarantees to the City for
the cost of this program through 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an extension of the existing
agreement for providing life insurance coverage to City employees.
Section 2. Funds for this benefit program are included in the budget model as part of
employee benefits.
