109971 RESOLUTION NO. 10,997 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE TRANSFER OF TAXI CAB 4 OPERATOR PERMITS FROM BLACK & WHITE CAB COMPANY 5 TO GREATER LITTLE ROCK TRANSPORTATION SERVICE, 6 LLC; TO AUTHORIZE AN INCREASE TO 83 PERMITS; TO 7 AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., RESOLUTION No. 10,963 8 (DECEMBER 19, 2000); AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10,963 (December 19, 2000), authorized 11 an increase in the number of taxi cab operator permits from 55 to 83 for Black & White Cab 12 Company ('Black & White ") and Greater Little Rock Transportation Services, LLC ( "GLRT ") 13 once certain insurance requirements were met, and 14 WHEREAS, this resolution also anticipated that Black & White permits would be 15 transferred to GLRT upon an appropriate showing.of financial responsibility as required by the 16 Little Rock Transportation Code, and 17 WHEREAS, that showing has now been made to the satisfaction of the Administrator 18 for taxi cab services, 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The taxi cab operator permits in the name of Black & White Cab 22 Company are hereby transferred to Greater Little Rock Transportation Services, LLC, for the 23 period from the date of this transfer to December 31, 2001. 24 Section 2. Greater Little Rock Transportation Services, LLC ( "GLRT ") is hereby 25 authorized to increase from 55 permits to 83 permits, and to have its request for a further 26 increase to 125 permits heard at the earliest possible moment after a February 13, 2001, public 27 hearing on the issue to be conducted by the Transportation Code Administrator. 28 Section 3. Section 2 of Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10,963 (December 19, 29 2000) ( "LRR 10,963 "), is hereby amended to exclude any reference to Black & White Cab 0 1 Company, and to assure that the 83 taxi cab operator permits are exclusively in the name of 2 GLRT. 3 Section 4. The Board of Directors reaffirms its intent to increase to 125 the number 4 of taxi cab operator permits to be granted to GLRT as set forth in Section 3 of LRR 10,963, and 5 further notes its intent to consider this issue during a reconvened meeting of the Board of 6 Directors scheduled for February 13, 2001, provided the Administrator has conducted a public 7 hearing on the question of the increase in the number of permits by the time of this meeting and, 8 has recommended such increase. 9 Section 5. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 10 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 11 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the 12 resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged 13 invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 14 Section 3. Repealer.
