A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH
ARKANSAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FOR ADOLESCENT
SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION AND
INTERVENTION ENHANCEMENT SERVICES FOR
LITTLE ROCK YOUTH AGES 14 -18.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and
treatment programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development; and;
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock issued a Request for Proposal for organizations to
provide adolescent substance abuse prevention and intervention enhancement services for Little
Rock youth ages 14 -18 attending Hall High, Pulaski and Forest Heights Middle Schools; and,
WHEREAS, a selection committee recommends Arkansas Children's Hospital, which
submitted the lowest responsible bid in the amount of $47,500.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with an agency
to provide adolescent substance abuse prevention and intervention enhancement services to Little
Rock youth ages 14 -18, in an amount not to exceed $47,500.
SECTION 2. The contract's term shall be from February 1, 2001 to January 31, 2002.
SECTION 3. Funding for this program is from funds remaining from the 2000 PIT
program contracts, account number 210- 035 -A297.
