6 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION
7 OF FUNDS TO THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS
8 TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY ( "CATA ") FROM THE
9 CITY'S FEDERAL \WELFARE -TO -WORK GRANT FOR VAN
10 TRANSPORTATION FOR N1'TNW CLIENTS AND THEIR
11 ELIGIBLE CHILDREN TO AND FROM AUTHORIZED
12 WELFARE-TO-WORK ACTIVITIES; AND FOR OTHER
13 PURPOSES.

15 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has received a Welfare -to- Work ( "WtW ")
16 Federal grant from the Department of Labor to train the hardest -to -serve welfare
17 recipients, and
18 WHEREAS, the City desires to provide for van transportation for Wt\W clients
19 and their eligible children who do not live near a fixed route bus system and require
20 transportation to and from WtW allowable activities, and
21 WHEREAS, the Central Arkansas Transit Authority ( "CATA ") is currently
22 coordinating fixed route bus service and taxicab transportation of WtW clients pursuant
23 to a contract with the City; and
24 WHEREAS, the City and CATA have agreed to provide van transportation for
25 WtW clients and their eligible children.
26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD 017
27 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
28 SECTION 1. The sum of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000), payable
29 from WtW grant account N WTO\W CON A 120 CATT is hereby appropriated for van
30 transportation services by CATA. Such service is for WtW clients and their eligible
31 children to and from WtW allowable activities.

I SECTION 2. These funds shall be expended during the next 7 '/ months,
2 during a period ending June 30, 2001.
