A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH
LITTLE ROCK CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER, INC.
TO OPERATE A YOUTH EMPLOYMENT CENTER TO
LITTLE ROCK YOUTH AGES 14 -18.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and
treatment programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Proposal to obtain
organizations to operate and provide employability services in a youth employment center to
Little Rock youth ages 14 -18; and,
WHEREAS, a five - member selection committee recommended the Little Rock Career
Development Center, Inc. as being a qualified applicant to provide youth employment center
services:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with the Little
Rock Career Development Center, Inc., to operate and provide employability services to Little
Rock youth ages 14 -18.
SECTION 2. The contract's term shall be from September 1, 2000 to August 31, 2001.
SECTION 3. Funding for this program is from funds remaining from the 1999 PIT
program contracts, account number 210- 035 -AS48.
