3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO B.J.
4 MCGINI'Y MECHANICAL TO PROVIDE PLUMBING
5 SERVICES TO THE CITY; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City periodically needs plumbing services at the 261 buildings
9 the City owns, but has only one trained plumbers on staff to provide these services, and
10 WHEREAS, after a competitive bid process that ended on July 7, 2000, it was
11 determined that B. R. McGinty Mechanical and Associated Plumbers was the lowest
12 responsible and responsive bidder, to provide additional services as needed,
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
14 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to contract with B. R. McGinty Mechanical
16 and Associated Plumbers to provide plumbing services to City buildings on an as needed basis
17 pursuant to terms that establish the hourly rate for a master plumber at seventy two dollars per
18 hour ($72.00 /hour), the hourly rate for a journeyman at sixty seven dollars per hour
19 ($67.00 /hour), and the hourly rate for an apprentice plumber at thirty dollars per hour
20 ($30.00 /hour).
21 Section 2. Funding for this contract will come from various City maintenance accounts
22 under the 3010 and 4080 object codes.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, subdivision, paragraph,
24 subparagraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged
25 to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
26 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared
27 or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
29 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such
30 inconsistency.
