4 ROCK CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER TO PROVIDE

6 ENRICHMENT SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock was awarded a grant from the United States
9 Department of Labor to provide services to Little Rock youth for both the summer,
10 2000, and for an year long program, and
11 WHEREAS, the City issued a competitive selection process to select an
12 organization to provide summer youth employment and academic enrichment services
13 in accordance with state and federal guidelines, and
14 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Career Development Center was the successful
is bidder,
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Little
19 Rock Career Development Center in an amount not to exceed $148,397 to provide summer
20 youth employment opportunities and academic enrichment services for Little Rock youth
21 during the summer, 2000: June 26, 2000 to September 1, 2000.
22 Section 2. Funding for this agreement is available from a U.S. Department of Labor
23 Workforce Investment Act fund, Subgrant No. 05 -P00- Youth -80.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, subtitle, chapter, subchapter, section,
25 subsection, subdivision, paragraph, subparagraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this
26 resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full
28 force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
29 originally a part of the resolution.

Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency.
