108460 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 10,846 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY 4 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH s THREE COMPETITIVELY SELECTED 6 ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE SUMMER YOUTH 7 RECREATION AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS; 8 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, as a result of the Future - Little Rock process the City committed to 11 spend funds on prevention, intervention and treatment programs for youth as a means 12 to enhance public safety, help to build community, and to provide positive development 13 opportunities for youth, and 14 WHEREAS, as a result of a competitive process a five - member selection 1s committee was selected to review various proposals and make recommendations for 16 providers of summer youth services, 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF Is THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into agreements with the following 20 organizations for provide summer youth programs within the City between the dates of July 1, 21 2000 and September 1, 2000 for a total cost of $55,112: 22 (a) Little Rock School District in an amount not to exceed $20,000; 23 (b) Gaines Street Center for Community Enrichment in an amount not to exceed 24 $15,951; 25 (c) Greater Friendship, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $19,161. 26 Section 2. Funds for these contracts are available in Account No. 210 - 035 -A544 (Little 27 Rock School District), No. 210- 035 -A546 (Gaines Street), No. 210 - 035 -A545 (Greater 28 Friendship), all of which contain remaining 1999 PIT program amounts. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, subtitle, chapter, subchapter, section, 30 subsection, subdivision, paragraph, subparagraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 0 resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
