NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Little Rock Fire Department is hereby authorized to provide service on a contract basis from May 1, 2000 to April 30, 2001 to: ELF Asphalt (formerly Koch Materials), 601 Shamburger Lane; Levi - Strauss, 15000 Panatella Parkway; Sharper Image, 2200 E. 145th Street; and Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc., 14000 Dineen Drive. SECTION 2. These businesses shall pay a "ready to serve" fee in an amount determined by multiplying 10 mills times the assessed valuation of the lands and buildings being served. In addition, each applicant shall pay a usage fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per hour or fraction thereof for each firefighting company which responds to an alarm on the premises of the applicant, whether the alarm is false or the result of a fire. The amount billed for protective service covers a period of one year from May 1 to April 30. The billing amount is based on the assessed value of the buildings covered, as listed in the County Assessor's office. A millage rate of 10 mils is applied to the assessed property value. The formula is the same for 2000 as it was for 1999. Also note that Wildwood Park, which was billed last year, has been annexed inside the city limits. In addition to the ready -to- service fee above, the company will be billed at the rate of $100.00 per hour for each fire fighting company that responds to an alarm on the premises of the applicant. The Treasury Management Division will be responsible for billing and collecting applicable amounts, once the Board enacts the ordinance.
