2 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT WITH THE
3 FIRM OF BAARD, KURTZ & DOBSON TO PROVIDE AUDIT
4 AND ACCOUNTING SERVICES TO THE CITY; AND FOR
5 OTHER PURPOSES.
6 WHEREAS, state law and city ordinance mandate that an annual audit be conducted of City
7 finances, and that certain other accounting documents be prepared, and
8 WHEREAS, after a competitive process it was decided that the firm of Baird, Kurtz & Dobson
9 was the most qualified fine to provide these services to the City for an audit of fiscal year, 1999, and that
10 a contract with this firm that could extend until 2004, for an audit of fiscal year 2003, is appropriate,
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
12 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
13 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with the firm of Baird,
14 Kurtz & Dobson to provide audit and accounting services to the City beginning in 2000, for fiscal year
15 1999, and extending in possible one year increments, at the discretion of the City, until 2004, for a review
16 of fiscal year 2003.
17 Section 2. Upon a satisfactory completion of the City's 1999 annual aduit, the City Manager
18 is authorized to renew this contract annually for the years 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003, to provide for
19 public accounting services to the City.
20 Section 3. The cost of these services for a review of fiscal year 1999, and any necessary
21 preparation for future fiscal years, shall not exceed one hundred and ninety five thousand dollars
22 ($195,000.00). Funds for this agreement are available in Account No. 100 - 111- 1100 -6081.
