3 A RESOLUTION TO WAIVE BUILDING PERMIT
A FEES FOR STRUCTURES DAMAGED BY THE
s JANUARY, 1999, TORNADO THAT ARE
6 UNDERGOING RECONSTRUCTION OR
7 REHABILITATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, a devastating tornado hit Little Rock on January 20, 1999, and was
10 the second such tornado to hit in as many years, and
11 WHEREAS, in an effort to assist in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the
12 area the City waived the payment of building permit fees for homes damaged by the
13 tornado, and
19 WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue that practice through the year 2000,
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
16 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The Board of Directors, having declared this area a disaster area
18 because of the January 20, 1999, tornado, hereby waives the requirement that building
19 permit fees be paid during the year 2000 for projects designed to reconstruct, or
20 rehabilitate, structures damaged by the tornado.
