3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LITTLE ROCK BOYS
5 CLUB TO OPERATE A COMMUNITY BASED PREVENTION
6 PROGRAM AT THE THRASHER BOYS CLUB IN THE SOUTH
7 END OF LITTLE ROCK.

9 WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group has evaluated the availability of prevention programs in
10 various parts of the City; and,
11 WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group recommends the establishment of a community -based
12 prevention program in the South End of Little Rock; and,
13 WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group recommends the use of Children's Trust Fund moneys to
14 finance the program
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
16 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 SECTION 1. The City Manager entered into a one -year contract with Thrasher Boys Club for
18 the period of October 15, 1998 through October 14, 1999, which provided for a one -year contract
19 extension based upon review of programmatic and financial performance and Board appropriations. The
20 Department of Community Programs has determined that contract performance by the Little Rock Boys
21 Club was acceptable and met the terms of the contract.
22 SECTION 2. The contract extension will be for one -year for the period of October 15, 1999,
23 through October 14, 2000
24 SECTION 3. The contract amount shall not exceed $44,232.00 and will be funded through the
25 Children's Trust Fund.
